This is the completion of my second visual journal collage. I added back in some collage elements as well as some Sharpie, gel pen, and graphite. The next visual journal class starts next week....always more to learn.

Continuing with my second collage. Added the oil pastels, charcoal, and gesso. The gesso makes my collage feel like sand paper. I think I'm going to use hackberry spines to create the design elements for Week 3 additions.

Another Visual Journal Collage

I am going through the recycled visual art journal Workshop again. This time trying out recyclables, magazine pages, and Elmer's glue instead of Mod Podge.

Workshop 1 Week 4

So I've finished up this workshop and my first visual art journal page. I added gel pen, oil pastel, and graphite pencil. It was nice being able to bring out my pencil sketch a little more. My page makes me want to go outside which is where I'm headed now!

Nothing like taking a class to keep me motivated to continue creating. Week 3 of this workshop had me adding acrylic paint to my journal page. To create texture I used recyclables such as a buckle and a rag from the recycle bin. I also went over some of the oil pastel again. I liked adding the paint texture and was happy to lighten up some of the darker areas. Also I used some texture to de-emphasize the door a bit.

I'm going to watch the final workshop video now. I may go ahead and do another art journal page to work on the techniques and to keep creating until the next class starts March 1.

This is my visual art journal page after Week 2 of Workshop 1 at Strathmore paper. Adding the charcoal went well but the oil pastel was hard to blend over the mod podge.

Looking forward to Week 3's lesson and additions.
